Discovery

After several scrubs, Discovery finally launched Friday night. We went to the beach to get a better view of the launch and it was impressive as always. The kids were impressed by how bright it got and a couple commented on how it was as if the sun was in the sky. It wasn't that bright but it certainly did light up the sky. The top picture is one I took from the beach and the bottom picture is courtesy of the NASA site.

Rad was gone for a few days this week and he missed having dinner with us at Uno's. I liked Uno's for lunch way back in the old days when I worked. The kids enjoyed it but it has really changed. Less choice of pizza/pasta and more steak/seafood. I ended up getting a baked haddock that was really good. The kids had pizza, grilled chicken, a pasta dish and the one thing that seems to get ordered anywhere we go, mac n cheese.

Ben gave his first talk in Sacrament meeting today, which was outstanding. He had to speak for 5 minutes on the Priesthood primarily and a bit on being an example. He spoke clearly, was a good distance from the microphone and he even remembered to look up at the congregation. He started preparing for his talk during the week, reading an article from the New Era and then wrote it Saturday. He timed it and it was 4-1/2 minutes so he added another paragraph mentioning his HT with Rad. Many people commented to Ben and to us on how well he did.
