Sandhill Cranes/Colts

Every year I see a colt or two roaming about with their sandhill crane parents.  I've run home to grab my camera and I can't find them.
I've taken pictures with my phone, but the quality was too poor.
Last year I took pictures with my iPod.  They turned out well enough.  I can't tell you how excited I was to have them in my backyard and I was able to use my camera.

Laura Quinn Wild Bird Sanctuary

Ben drove Rad crazy with the many pictures he took of him during this stop, but I thought it was worth it to share these two since he is looking in one picture and found the cache in the second.

Stephanie took a lot of pictures too.

National Everglades

We went into the Visitor Center, walked a 1/2 mile trail and drove around the area.

He's looking for clues for a different cache (I'm not sure if he solved this one.) and still smiling.

Look whose happy he found another cache!

Bahia Honda

It took 2 years but we made it back to Bahia Honda.  You can see pictures from our last visit HERE.

I'm not sure what Jessica's issue was, but she was by the water being grumpy that she didn't want sand on her feet.  Being the dad that he is, he carried her back to the blanket so she wouldn't have sandy feet.
He noted that he was pretty sure she exceeded the weight limit of what he should be picking up while his rib heals.
The kids were heading to the other side of the beach to find snails.

Audubon House

I wanted to go to the Audubon House solely to see the works of John James Audubon.  I thought there were 22 images of his in the house.  It turns out their are 28.  The 22 number came was the number of new birds he saw while visiting the Keys and Tortugas.

The home itself was built by Captain Geiger.  He lived there with his wife and 11 children.  He made a living by being a wrecker.  It makes sense that there were a lot of shipwrecks off the shore and he and/or his crew swooped in.
