State Officer

This is the next group of State Officers being sworn in at State Conference with the exception of the incoming State Regent. They had me join the officers but in reality, I will be installed as State First Vice Regent at Continental Congress. I presume they install us after they install the incoming State Regents, but I honestly don't know. I'll find out when I get there. Crazy to think that I will be State Regent in two years.

Hope Chest

Beth passed away February 27, 2023. She had been having health issues off and on since last summer. This time she went to the hospital and they discovered her cancer (that she wasn't treating) had metastasized. They didn't give her long but she went home from the hospital on Saturday and passed on Monday. Good she didn't have pain.

This hope chest is special. My grandmother gave it to my mother when I was a kid to be given to me later. When my dad passed away, Beth had gone to my mother's house and reclaimed the hope chest. She left it to me in her will. I'm happy to have it back again. It got a little damaged in the shipping. Rad has suggested we get it refinished anyway. I don't know when we will do that, but I'm happy to consider it.

Valentine's Tea

The girls and I have a tradition of going to St. James Tearoom near Valentine's Day. Becca enjoys this menu because it has a French flair. Always a beautiful experience here.

America 250!

I designed this cup and asked Rad to etch it for me on base. I love the way it turned out. Hoping to be able to use it to raise funds for the America 250 Committee to purchase markers for the state.

Kentucky

My mother's sister, Cathy, passed away January 14th. Her service was held the following week. I met my mother in Kentucky knowing this would be a hard loss for her. The above picture of Cathy isn't the best picture but it was a more recent one that was taken just before she had her hair cut. When I look at the picture, it seems like she would be an author or artist of sorts.

My mom with her two remaining siblings, Glenn and Ernie.

After the service at the cemetery, we all went to Charlestown Pizza Company for lunch. My cousin and her fiancé own this business. She was busy getting orders, etc, which didn't allow for much time to visit with her but we did get to chat at the funeral home. So great to see everyone. Some I've seen in the past 10 years and others it was closer to 25 years.

Friends

My peeps that I get together with most weeks. We had our annual tea in January to celebrate making it through the holiday season. We got together in December and celebrated my birthday by painting.

Play with Me!

This dog is a hoot! He wants someone to play laser with him outside so he went behind the couch, popped his head up over the back and proceeded to back a lot of low growl noises.

Pyro-gourmaniacs

Alex showed up at our house with a box of 20 chicken nuggets from McDonald's and the above hot sauces that increased with heat as you progressed through the bottles.
By the third bottle, Rad was feeling a little bit of heat but nothing he couldn't handle.

How lucky was I to catch his expression on his last nugget!

Fun challenge, Alex!
