Constitution Week

My husband saved me at our chapter meeting this month.  Three days before the meeting I got an e-mail from the person I had scheduled that they would not be able to present at our meeting.  Her friend was receiving her citizenship and she would be an hour away and didn't want to risk being late or not showing.

We tried to find someone through a lawyer friend and that didn't pan out either.  Rad came and talked about the military and the constitution.  He did very well and the ladies were pleased with his presentation and I am grateful for his support.

Ben's Birthday

September was busy before it even started.  I started the month with 3 open days and that was before I scheduled the baby shower.  We had to celebrate Ben's birthday a couple of days after it actually happened.  In his world, it wasn't a big deal because he is 21 and would rather be with his girlfriend. haha  I ordered a cookie cake for him this year rather than make one.  Isn't that candle fun?  More girly than for a guy but he likes fire so it was good for him.

Baby Shower

The last time we lived here my friend's niece was a young woman.  Shortly after we came back last year, she got married and soon after was expecting her first baby.  I had a shower for her at our home.  Her sister & mom took care of the games.  I just provided the location, food and decorations.  It was a nice time and I had a chance to catch up with my friend.  It is crazy how busy life is when you live in the same city and haven't seen each other for 11 mos.

Still wish the frosting on the cupcakes was more of a purple than a blue.

This picture was taken before all of the food was put out.

Jalapeno

Our atrium gets a lot of light.  I planted some seeds in planters for tomatoes, jalapenos, and herbs.  I figured if nothing else, I would get a batch of salsa.  It turns out it doesn't get enough direct sunlight.  I never did get a tomato.  In fact, all I got was one jalapeno.  If you look closely around the center of the above picture, you'll find it.
Yep, it's small.

Once I got all of the "garden" plants out, I switched over to some fall plants to add some color. I ended up putting the mums outside, but I wanted the color for the baby shower.

Basketball

Some pictures from Stephanie and Jessica's basketball games.  They are disappointed that the season doesn't last longer.  In Florida it ran about a month and half (not including the weeks of practice).  In New York it was one day.  Here it is a couple of weeks.  I'm glad they had the opportunity to play on a team in the community in New York and enjoy the game.
