Birthdays

This was an uneventful birthday.  They didn't want a party and didn't really want to celebrate their birthday.  We ended up going to Chili's for dinner.  They got blankets to wrap themselves in for seminary.  They got a 12 pack of their favorite soda.  Stephanie got some clothes and necklaces.  Jessica got a Chromebook.

Becca gave Jessica a yoga mat and Stephanie this fabric to hang on her wall.  It was a good birthday.  Jessica would call it "low key."

Lovely in Lavender

This quilt will be for Jessica.  I finished the top in 8 days.  It took a little more than 100 hours and I believe I may have been a little over ambitious on the deadline I set.  

I learned to miter corners on this one.  I've always been able to skip the miter step because of the material but his floral border looked best mitered so I had to bite the bullet and give and a go.  It wasn't hard to do but I sure did worry it was good enough when I was trimming the excess.

The quilt top measures 90 x 100 inches.
