Elephant Butte
I have no clue why all of my pictures in my file now have a blue box around them and a heart in the lower left corner. While I was at workshop my husband went around geocaching, riding a bike in some areas. When I was done he took me over to the dam to see it. We had a speaker at workshop that told about the dam being built and he had a lot of pictures he shared. I was just happy to see water again.
Workshop
Baskets on all the tables celebrating women past and present day that have made notable contributions.
The color guard that opened workshop
These ladies from the Farming area presented the most entertaining skit on "protocol." I learned a little something through the laughter.
In 2021 the Santa Fe trail will be 200 years and there are plans being made for a big event. There is also another marker being added here in New Mexico.
This is a nifty quilt with each chapter of the state having made a block. It will be making its rounds to each chapter soon so newer members can see it.
These ladies put on a skit for women's suffrage. It was interesting to have both sides/concerns expressed.

Pioneer Day
While I was on the committee for Pioneer Day and lined up the food for 300 people, I was not able to attend because I had to work. My husband and his mom went and seemed to enjoy the event. These pictures are from one of the committee members that shared them with me.
It was held at the Edgewood Sports complex. They had games for the younger kids to play and ball game for any age.

Isotopes
The rest of the family went to a baseball game at Isotopes park with church members. I chose not to go since I'm really not into baseball. I'll admit it is better in person than on TV, but I had no desire to go and welcomed a few hours of down time. Everyone seemed to have a good time.

Bell Ringers Breakfast
I attended a bell ringers breakfast for Independence Day. There were veterans from a couple of wars welcomed at the breakfast.
The State Regent talked about her project of gathering books for foster children, the importance of reading, the challenges her son had and how books helped.
At the end of the event, everyone sang, "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and then we all rang our bells.
