Rad organized a merit badge round-up/campout for the Stake. He taught a couple of merit badges, I went on Saturday to teach one. It was a busy couple of weeks for him.
Ben complained of a sore throat and insisted he had strep. He knows I won't doubt him on this because the first time he ever had it, I told him he didn't and it turned out he did. When he said he had it the second time, I just took him to the doctor and indeed he did. So here we are, the third time he has had strep. The initial test came back negative but we never heard back on the longer test. I'm guessing that means he had it or they would have called to tell him to stop taking the medicine they prescribed.
So what does one do when they feel good overall, just has a sore throat and doesn't want to eat because it hurts? You go to the beach, of course. Does he look sick to you?
It was a beautiful day.
Does he act sick to you? Ben can't leave the birds alone. He still chases them at 17.
He counted this as "tracking" at the beach. Educational, right?
A picture of the shells you walk by as you walk along the beach. So many to choose from.
Last weekend (2/22) there was an Eagle project, which Rad went to help with. It turned out they had way more helpers than they did work. Rad and Dwight went away from where they were working, close enough to the project though, to pull weeds and vines that they were getting rid of at the project site. Dwight suggested to Rad that he stand on his knee/leg to reach up to a vine. Rad did this, pushed off of the tree and the vine broke. Rad ended up falling to the ground and landing on his back. He was sore but went on with his day. Sunday he went to a ward conference in another ward and then came to ours. He went to a Priest/Laurel missionary activity that night. He went to work Monday, noting that he was feeling worse and having spasms where it tightened and was VERY painful. Tuesday he stayed home from work, still bad off for the day. Wednesday I took him to sick call, he had x-rays taken and was told he fractured the 5th rib down in the back. The meds have helped him to tolerate the pain and stop the spasms.
Since he wouldn't appreciate my posting a picture of him in pain, you get ribs . . .
The other big news from February is that we will be moving to Troy, NY (or in that area) this summer.
That was February.
