House Hunting

Today we had an appointment to look at a house that we've been looking at online for a couple of weeks. The perk for this house is how big it is (2,516 sq. ft). The kids are pretty excited to consider that we might go back to a larger home like we had in VA. Ben has agreed we can do without the pool to have more space.

Ben took a lot of pictures of the house today. In fact, if you want to see the wire shelves in the master bedroom, I think I have 6 pictures of them. He took several of the master bath as well and, of course, some of himself.

This is the dining room, which would hold our hutch and the table fully extended quite nicely.
This would be the living room for our brown furniture and piano.

Can I just say I love all of the cabinets in the kitchen. The realtor was pointing out that it has granite counter tops. I really wasn't as jazzed about that as I was the size of the kitchen and the CABINETS. Lovely! I took this picture from the listing. No pool but a screened in lanai that has a great view of a pond.A couple of other things that were nice about this house:
1) There are 3 bathrooms all together (master, one between 2 bedrooms, and 1 15 +/- feet from a bedroom). The girls would have a separate bathroom from Ben (super nice when it comes to aim/dribbles all around).
2) Off of the family room, there is an office type of nook with cabinets/drawers that would make a perfect new home for my stamping (even a closet with shelves for stamp sets). It isn't huge but is built into the hall between a bedroom and bathroom.

We really liked the house, Ben was ready to sign the papers today. I'm looking forward to tomorrow when we look at 2 more and then we will probably decide tomorrow night which will suit our family best.

After we looked at this house, we went to base housing. We aren't sure but we are thinking we would have this size for a house if we lived there. This house doesn't look too bad compared to those around it, actually, it looks kind of nice. Definitely bigger. Ben pointed out that if we lived there, we would have to look at the ugly houses around us.
Then we drove by our old house, which they are preparing to tear down. Those that visited us will remember that it was a duplex and we lived on the left side of the house (the one without the garage door).
We were on our way back to the hotel when Stephanie asked how much longer until we were at the hotel. We had been driving for 35 min. and she felt we should be back by now because it didn't take us that long to get to the house we looked at. The kids couldn't wait to be back to the hotel and change into their swimsuits to hit the beach again. Once again, Rad took them to the pool after they were in the ocean for 1-1/2 hours.
