Yesterday was the Hershey Track meet. Stephanie was scheduled to run the mile and be in a relay race. The first race for her was the mile. She started off well, paced herself. As she finished her first lap, I commented to Rad that on the next lap she would pass the boy in the gray shirt. She then ran to us and said, "I can't do it!" After a brief discussion, disappointment for Rad and in the end herself, she ended up going to those running the race and telling them she was out. She said later in the day that she psyched herself out. She is harder on herself than anyone else could be.
The event following the mile and the last for the day, was the relay. She did well with it.
She is still talking of running track in middle school.
