The last day of school couldn't get here fast enough. The twins had straight As again. Becca ended up with 3 As and 2 Bs. Ben is taking the last of his finals today so I expect his report card will be mailed in a couple of weeks.Today was Becca's graduation from elementary school . . . again. There wasn't a speaker at the graduation. In some ways this is good because I really liked the speaker in ABQ that talked about working hard, sticking with it and using common sense.
She received certificate for Outstanding Academic Excellence from the President's program. A friend from school joked that this was President Obama's way of being on her good side so she wouldn't use her intelligence against the government.
It was a nice touch that after awarding certificates to students and before having them all walk across the stage. They recognized the major volunteers for the 6th grade and had the students of the volunteers give a rose to their parent.
When they walked across the stage, they had a slide show with each student's picture and the group(s) they were in at school, recognition they received during the school year and their interests.
They gave each 6th grader an 8x10 photo of the 6th grade that was taken on the playground and a mug with some candy in it. The picture below was taken the day of the group photo.
