Macarons

Becca had a lot of ambition this afternoon and decided to have her first try at making macarons. They took her hours to make. Technically, she started two days earlier when she cracked a couple of eggs in a bowl and put them in the refrigerator to dehydrate some. The recipe called for the different flours to be sifted four times. She said she only did it three times because her arms got tired. I suggested she could have used the fine mesh strainer with a spoon and she told me it said not to do it that way. You had to shake it to sift it; the way I suggested was considered forceful. Who knew?
Tell me this isn't impressive for a first go around. Goodness, it seems to me that this is good if you've them a couple dozen times.
She is the sweetest thing. She told me everyone could have four but she could only have two more. She told me she had one the day before and she was having another one, which left her two. I suggested she tell us we can have three since she is the one that labored so long on them. She was kind to be so generous with us. She liked my idea and went with it. Yummy!
