Today and tomorrow, the 4th graders are putting on a play, "It's a Jungle Out There." Jessica's class are the hyenas and Stephanie's class are the monkeys. There were also elephants and cheetahs. The cheetahs were my favorite. They wore party hats and kept blowing noise makers. They had no idea why they were partying other than they were "party animals." They partied today and would be tomorrow. They also mentioned not caring about homework etc. Spoken like a kid I know that wasn't in the play.
The main point of the play was that a king lion, Leo, asked two other animals to find out what happiness was. As they came across the different animals and asked them why they were happy, the classes would sing them there song and explain why they were they they were. In the end, it was the elephants, who stopped to smell the roses that were the happy ones. Of course, friendship was mentioned, too.
