A friend posted the above video (not her video) and her experience on the river on Facebook. I had never heard of it but showed it to Rad and suggested this would be something Becca would enjoy. Ben and Stephanie could be interested but Ben is always off with friends on the weekend and Stephanie is hit or miss. Jessica I didn't expect would want to be on the river at night, which, when given the choice, was true. Rad and Becca were going to go and then a storm came and they had to postpone their plans.
Late Saturday night, another friend posted that they went to their dock and splashed around with their oars and could see it. We took two paddles, piled in the van and we went to check it out. The first dock we went out on had an animal scurry by rather quickly. Freaked a couple of us out a bit. Rad suggested it was a cat or a rat. I think it was an armadillo. That spot wasn't too good for it so we headed north to Cocoa. It was there we scored and saw the glow.
Talking with another friend at church yesterday, Rad learned the best time to see the plankton was just before dawn. He and Becca got up early this morning and went to the river. I hear they had a pretty good view. Becca liked being on the river for the sunrise but she did not enjoy being eaten by mosquitoes.
