I came home from a meeting to a snake by the door. It was several feet long. I was startled by it and yelled for Ben to come. When he opened the door I was yelling for him to shut it because I was afraid it would go into the house. Then the dog ran out and I have to admit I thought briefly about the snake going after the dog. Silly thought and the dog was oblivious that it was even there.
