Bosque Del Apache

My husband and I made a date of going to Bosque Del Apache.  We got up just after 4 AM so that we could be there for the sunrise.  We ended up driving around the loops twice.  The first time was deciding where to be for the sunrise and the second time was to see the birds and have pictures that weren't a silhouette.

We saw Coots, 3 Bald Eagles, Pontail ducks,
Mallard ducks, 2 Bofflehead ducks, 3 Great Blue Herons, Hawks (kestrel?), Sandhill cranes, Canada geese, Snow geese, Roadrunner, Turkeys, Mourning doves, Redwing blackbirds, Some other blackbirds?,
Crows/Ravens

We've never seen so many sandhill cranes together at one time.  In Florida, we always saw them in pairs, threes if there was a baby.

We also went to the Socorro Nature Area:
Roadrunner, Ravens, Woodpecker (ladder backed?), Robins, Western bluebird, Black phoebe?, Northern Flicker, White breasted nuthatch

 Doesn't that sign put you at ease?
