Synopsis:
A comedy in three acts, Stardust follows the lives of students of the Academy of Dramatic and Allied Arts, and their director, the "Stanislavsky Wannabe" Ms. Bach. Under her direction the students give new meaning to the words "acting" and "artist", literally living their roles. Anxiously awaiting an accomplished Broadway star, Prudence Mason, who has agreed to star in "Antony and Cleopatra" at the academy, the students are shocked to find that Prudence is just a "normal" woman, attempting to find her true place in the world. Nothing is "normal" however, from the Hollywood Producer Jerry Flanagan, whose relaxed attitude "fiancee" who wants nothing more than to get Prudence out of the acting life; Claire Carter, who loves to let her sarcastic self loose on Arthur; Janet, the ingenue who wants to be a Hollywood Star and Phil, the painter who loves her. Madness begins to engulf the entire Academy, with love triangles, a scandal involving the Dean of Women, and Prudence getting anything but star treatment. Prudence tries to figure out what her true calling in life is, and how to escape the fiasco of a play at the academy with her career intact.
