Steph spent her afternoons at a cheer clinic last week. Tryouts were on Friday. She had a 50/50 chance of getting in based on the number of spots open and how many were trying out. When she finished, she told me she didn't think she would get in. Later that night, the list was posted and her number wasn't on there. She is okay with that. She's thinking she may give basketball a go now.
I was impressed with her for going for it. Originally, she and her friends had talked of trying out for cheerleading but they all backed out. Knowing they weren't going to do it, she still went to the clinic and followed through. I admire her for stepping out of a comfort zone, trying something new and being with people she didn't know. It takes courage.
